God Awful Things

When I was living in Pleasantville, IA. there was this gentleman a grade or two older than me whom was a huge wrestling fan. In a weird way, pro-wrestling is like Santa Claus for teen (and older) men. The Spolans’ and myself were discussing whether or not we’d tell our nonexistent children that Santa Claus is real or not, I’m a big proponent of telling them “Yes, Santa is real”, despite my own traumatic experiences of discovering thats not the case.

Sigh, it still hurts.

Anyway, this guy in highschool, I don’t remember his name, but I’m sure I could guess his last name as there are only about a dozen last names in small towns (we’re talking population 1500 here).. anyway, people would often tell him “Pro-Wrestling isn’t even real!!!”, he’d respond quickly with a full nelson or a pile driver or DDT, and ask them “IS THIS REAL?!?!”
