I’m thinking of switching hosting providers.. God have I forgotten what a huge pain this is. I registered this domain back on October 15 1998, and I’ve had 3 hosting services in that time, all terrible. Now, there is nothing particularly terrible about my host right now (olm.net if you’re wondering) except for their billing, oh, and the fucking me over.
Their billing is all done by credit card, no big deal, but if you want to switch your card or if you get a new card or if for some reason they can’t bill you any more on the one you’ve been using for a while well, then they send you an email which you print out all your credit card info and then fax(!!!) it back to them. This happens more often than you might think.
Then there is the fucking me over. I’ve been with these guys since around 2000 I imagine, and it seems their prices get lower and lower, I think when I started I was paying $16 a month for hosting, now it’s $5 and way more features… except I’m still on their plan for 5 years ago of $10 a month with few features. Gah… anyway, I’m going to switch hosting services soon and so this site may be down for a couple days while everything gets moved over… just a fair warning!
